Chapter 279: Childish Lies
fđ«eđđebđođŻđđ„.đđmAs Han Jin set foot on the city wall, the flying red lotus petals began to wither away, and the pieces turned into ashes that disappeared into the air. On both sides of Han Jin, there was no one left on the thousands of miles long city wall. However, there was still lots of dust rolling and flying everywhere.
The first thing that the Red Lotus Hellfire would attack was the soul. For those who are unable to resist the attack, they would completely turn into ashes. His master had warned him in the past that using Red Lotus Hellfire would destroy the peace. That was why it had to be used with caution! If he were still in the other world, Han Jin might have thought twice before using it, however in this world... peace?! That was ridiculous. If he had allowed the demons to escape this time, they may return for revenge, and if Sunier, Moxinke, or anyone of them were to be killed by the abyss demon, what was the point of maintaining peace?!
âKILL...â Upon seeing that the petal rain had disappeared, the soldiers of Fort Maxine gathered their courage and rushed toward the city wall.
Han Jin slowly walked onto the battlefield and looked at the scene happening below him. A feeling of empathy suddenly swept across him. It was the empathy of a superior towards the inferiors. Of course, if the ones coming in their direction were the Abyssal race, this place would have already become a street filled with blood.
Han Jin sighed as he was a little disappointed. He was bored of the situation. Even if he didnât do it himself, there would be someone else who would do it for him.
A fierce fire dragon fell from the sky and landed on the streets. The soldiers who were on the frontlines screamed in horror. Although heavy metal armor was a good weapon, it was unable to resist burning temperatures. One after another, all of them turned into matchsticks that were burning and struggling.
A pair of wings that were composed entirely of burning flames continued moving as the fire dragon moved forward along the streets. A raging fire would be lit in every single place that it passed by. There were about five to six hundred soldiers gathered, but all of them were instantly destroyed by a fire dragon without any room for any resistance.
Cain and Yalina stood on both sides next to Han Jin with faces that were flushed with excitement. The magics that Han Jin released may not be the most powerful, but they were definitely the most beautiful. They were even comparable to the legendary miracles; they were unforgettable! It wasnât only unforgettable for the two of them, but for everyone who was on the ship!
In the distance, the battle flag of the Riptide Regiment was raised in the air and a black shadow headed in their direction.
Although they had not made it for the real battle, they werenât late. To be honest, they would not have any influence in the superior-grade battles as every lord on the mainland was a powerful superior, and the only fights that would make a difference would be fights between superiors.
There was a clear chirping sound that was coming from the air. Little Gold Bolt who was leading the thunderbirds had already entered Fort Maxine, and following behind them were the gargoyles. They were there to protect the thunderbirds. As soon as the thunderbirds were attacked, they would protect them with their own body.
âIâll leave this place to you guys.â Han Jinâs figure disappeared as soon as he finished his sentence.
With Han Jinâs ability, he was still unable to see situations that were further away. However, he was connected to the holy animals, and Little Gold Bolt was his eyes. Not long ago, Little Gold Bolt found someone that had to be killed in order for Han Jin and the Riptide Regiment to prove their rising status.
In one of the rooms, the owner of Fort Maxine, Wane, stood next to the iron bed and shouted in a panicked voice, âMadam... this is bad... This is bad...â
The girl with the silver hair coldly stared at Wane and did not reply to him. Both of her wrists and ankles were already oozing with blood, which was a result of her struggling. However, this was the same black crystal thread that had held Guevara captivated, therefore it was impossible for her to escape from it.
âMadam, you have to help us!â Wane pleaded.
At the same time, Han Jinâs figure rose from the ground like a ghost, slowly sat on a chair nearby, and stared at Waneâs figure.
When the girl noticed Han Jinâs entrance, she was a little surprised but replied to Wane in a chilly tone, âWhy should I help you? Youâre the same as Zolof – both of you are Zaganideâs bitches!â
âMadame, didnât you know?â Waneâs eyes widened in surprise: âZolof has already pissed us off after causing a rampant here! But... but Iâve already killed Zolof just now, and Zaganideâs troops are already here! Madam, you have to help us! Youâre the only one who can help us now!â
Han Jin smiled as the dining table caught his attention. Although only charms had been released during the battle before this, they had already used up most of his vital energy. So, out of instinct, he wanted to eat something, but the mess on the table totally ruined his appetite.
âYou? You killed Zolof?â The girls couldnât help but give a scornful smile. Although she was young and gullible, Waneâs lies were even more naive. âIf that were the case, you should look for the one who killed Zolof. If he can kill Zolof, then he should be able to stop Zaganideâs troops. Why are you begging me?â
âMadam, I...â Wane started shedding tears of sorrow. âMadam, one of my most powerful top-grade magusâ was sacrificed in the battle with Zolof!â
âTop-grade magus? Sir Wane, it seems that we need to get to know each other once again. Youâre one of Beitmanâs lords, arenât you?â The girl became even more sarcastic and meaner as the conversation went on. Under the circumstances, Waneâs lies became even more ridiculous. If he really had a top-grade magus and was able to control the magus, he would have defeated them long ago. Why did he have to hide inside Fort Maxine?
âNo, I hate war!â Wane sighed.
Han Jin almost laughed out loud, and shook his head. He then picked up one of the jugs on the table.
âZolof drank from that, itâs dirty.â Perhaps it was due to Han Jinâs appearance or maybe it was his charisma that gave out a nice fluttering smell in the air, but the girl had a good feeling toward him and decided to warn him. âIf you want a drink, there are fresh ones on the shelf behind you.â
âOh?â Han Jin looked back and smiled. âThank you.â
Wane and both of his guards suddenly noticed that there was another person in the room and immediately recognized him. With the help of Eyes of Perspective that had been released by the magicians, he knew that Han Jin was the one who had killed Zolof. Then, he shouted, âKill him! Kill that man!â
Both of the guards pulled out their long swords and rushed toward Han Jin. At the same time, the door burst open, and Guevara, like a god of war, appeared with his Dragon Spear. As he swung the spear, both of the guards were crushed by Guevaraâs arrogant fighting strength which caused blood to splash in every direction. Even Wane and the silver-haired girl were covered in blood.
Following Guevara, Jeddes also came into the room. Han Jin had already landed the ship. The task of the superiors on board was to join the battle in order to lighten the pressure for the Riptide Regiment, and to try to minimize casualties as much as possible. However, Guevara and some of them were no longer interested in the battle. After seeing such beautiful yet powerful magic, they only wanted to take a look at Han Jin. They didnât have anything to say to him, but they wanted to have a look at him.
âWhy are you guys here?â Han Jin was surprised.
âI remembered that you didnât like drinking.â Guevara noticed the jug in Han Jinâs hand.
âI was just a little tired.â Han Jin smiled and sat on the chair.
âYou...â Guevara paused and slowly said, âRaphael, you did a great job! Well done!â
Han Jinâs vision went out of focus. He was clear that the âwell doneâ that Guevara was referring to wasnât only because he had killed Zolof. It included all of his recent improvements and all of his achievements. However, Han Jin was not an emotional person, so he didnât know how to react to it and could only smile.
Majordomo Gail walked through the broken door, and Jeddes laughed. âDid you find it?â
Majordomo Gail flushed as he didnât know whether to shake or nod his head, but he ended up staring at Jeddes. This was the pain of his character as a thief. He had thrown his dagger at Zolof, but Zolof had escaped his attack with teleportation, causing his dagger to have been thrown far away. As soon as the ship had landed, he had to look for his dagger as it was the most important thing in his life! Otherwise, he would have rushed in along with them.
Wane sat at the edge of the bed as his body trembled while looking at the people who were in the room. The silver-hair girl was nervous as well. Han Jin gave a relaxing feeling which didnât threaten her, but Guevara was different. The aggressive look and the fighting strength that he had released as he had broken into the room proved his identity. Plus, with the atmosphere between Guevara, Jeddes, and Majordomo Gail, it was obvious that they were friends. This also meant that their strengths were about the same. Anyone would feel nervous upon seeing three top grade superiors together.
âStay away!â Wane suddenly pulled out his sword and held it against the young girlâs neck while pathetically screaming. âI will kill her if you come any closer!â
No one was bothered about him. It was ridiculous trying to take a hostage in front of a dragon knight, a top-grade thief, and an archbishop. Besides, the hostage that he had taken didnât affect them. Maybe if it were Sunier, it might be able to catch their attention.
The silver-hair girlâs eyes turned silver in color, and two beams shot out from her eyes. The beams were aimed at Waneâs chin. In the blink of an eye, his head was exploded into pieces by the beams.
âThunder Titan?!â Guevara froze and gave a solemn look as he noticed the Black Crystal Thread on the young girl.
Han Jin put down the jug and walked over. He gently touched the Black Crystal Thread and laughed. âDoesnât it feel like meeting an old friend?â
âOld Friend? Sure... an old friend indeed.â The fierce light in Guevaraâs eyes flashed away.
Jeddes and Majordomo Gail looked at each other but didnât say anything. After living for so long and experiencing so much, they were no longer kind-hearted people who would immediately help those who were suffering. This was something that only a young man would do. Plus, not to forget that the person who was tied to the bed was a Thunder Titan. The saying was right – the enemy of an enemy was definitely a friend.
