Chapter 80: Raid~2!

The empire of Ranghaur possesses three major generals on Central level who deals with their respective fields of operation. One of those generals who hold the duty to train the best of the militants and command the Royal Order was currently standing in front of Ciel.

General Soldheik Ionhart.

Almost seven feet tall and of a massive stature is possessed by the General who has the battle capabilities which might rival armies of several small kingdoms and holds the strength to clear out even a four-crownedtemple if provided with necessary types of equipment.

Soldheik has been knocked out several times in the past but he never gave up and always found a way to overcome his weaknesses. In several wars Ranghaur won with the least casualties then it was thanks to the responsible General they had in the arsenal.

For Ciel, her father was undoubtedly a hero. She always has sought ways to make him proud of her yet there weren’t many instances where she could find the light in his eyes as when he sees Ciel’s older siblings.

“At ease, my child. If my family starts to treat me as a General as well then where am I supposed to relax?”

As Ciel lifted her head she saw a gentle smile on her father’s lips which was rare enough to surprise her. More like him visiting her was much to a seldom occurrence altogether.

“Is there something the matter, father?’

Soldheik sighed as he saw how upright and disciplined his child has grown up to but then again she was right when she said that something was up.

“How is the school?”

Ciel was still confused but she answered nevertheless.

“Everything is fine, father.”

Soldheik replied with a “Is that so…” which made the room slightly awkward and Ciel knew the reason behind it so she didn’t beat around the bush and confronted the situation.

“Please tell me what is it, father?”

Ciel had a hunch what might be the reason for her father’s sudden visit just at times of ‘ that event ‘ but little did she think there would be such an add-on to his words.

“It’s about your marriage, Ciel.”

Ciel’s eyes widened slightly but she didn’t lose her composure and responded in the same respectful tone.

“But-“

“I know you want to pursue your dream to become a Royal Knight, but the elders are not happy with your progress so they are forcing the marriage as per the custom.”

Ciel’s throat felt heavy as despite wanting to lash out about the damn elders of the family or how her father even allowed such nonsense, she could say nothing and stay silent to hear whether there was any good thing about this announcement or not?

Since childhood, she has dreamt to become a knight like her father but at the end of the day, she was also bound by those shit old customs and traditions that her ancestors has followed.

Gritting her teeth Ciel leaned her face down but what she heard next lessened her agitation to a decent extent.

“But I told them to give you another chance, Ciel.”

Shooting up her head the silver-haired maiden looked in her father’s direction, curiosity oozing in her gaze to know the only chance she have to escape the shitty reality she was getting forced into.

The burly man stared at his daughter’s impatience and the burning spirit flaming in her eyes which more or less answered what he came for.

“If you want to live your life on your terms then show your worth daughter and win the Arena of the Elites.”

“Woah…”

An inaudible exclamation left Seth’s lips as he entered the dungeon along with the other party members.

There was a glass pyramid built at the roof and the entire dungeon was showered with the moonlight reflecting through the glass.

The dungeon was eerie and dark whatsoever since there weren’t any artificial lighting arrangements nor any other guards stationed inside the place for the adventurer’s protection. It was just a true battleground for warriors to train and earn.

Seth glanced at others and no one seemed surprised to like him, signifying that he indeed was the only newbie here. It goes without saying that Lara was also indifferent…or not.

Now when he looked carefully Lara seemed to be anxious about something which brought a frown for Seth as well. He slowed down his pace and matched her steps beside Lara who was looking around the dungeon in a troubled manner for unknown reasons,

Lara was by no mean an amateur since she has worked as an assassin before joining as his maid and undoubtedly faced various dangers in the past.

Something like Goblin’s nest was not something that should be much of a problem for her which further made Seth severely doubtful of the situation.

“Is everything okay?”

As he said, Seth let his soul energy travel in his surroundings and pulled his guard as he heard Lara whispering back.

“Something feels strange….even when we entered the dungeon it felt we crossed inside some kind of spell. I don’t know what it is but young master please stay close to me.”

Seth was unsure what she was talking about since he nor anyone else seemed to be wary of their surroundings. But then again Seth wasn’t a fool to not believe Lara’s warning since he knew she was currently the strongest among them.

He didn’t know whether the two shadow Generals her mother sent for Seth’s protection inside the dungeon or not, which made Seth extremely alert. Now, he realized how lax he was before when he was given the assurance of those two bodyguards. But not anymore.

‘I hope this only-‘

His thoughts broke out before his eyes widened in shock as he sensed something approaching them at a furious pace. But the problem was that the creature came on Seth’s radar slightly late.

“Watch out!!!”

*BOOOOOM*
